The Village Print Shop opened in June of 1976 at 109 North Second Street. Local business owner Walter Schmitt approached Mark Barnes about running a print shop to supply his product labels and literature. Mark had a Degree in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, so crossing the bridge to the actual printing side was of interest. He managed the shop through 1980 and went to another shop for 4 years and in March of 1984, he and his wife Lois purchased the business. In the spring of 1989, they acquired the building at 103 North Second Street and moved ink, stock and printing press next door.
Diana Hirko Casturo, office manager and digital design and print expert, has been with the shop for 23 years. She came on board her senior year of high school as a co-op student from CWCTC. She worked part-time while earning a degree from WCCC and has been a blessing ever since.
The Village Print Shop takes pride in customer service first and foremost, their goal is to provide quality printing in a timely manor.
