GRC In The Community

The Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce prides itself on community involvement through partnerships with other organizations and giving back when the opportunities arise.

Each year, we collaborate with Rostraver Township and Rostraver Township Lions Club on the annual Christmas Celebration, and we are a partner of the Mon Valley Home Show.

The GRC also works with the Belle Vernon Area School District on various student programs, and provides scholarships to BVA, Westmoreland County Community College, Douglas Education Center, and California University of PA.

In addition, GRC Executive Director, Gina C. Lynn and other members can be found volunteering their time or service throughout the community.

Mon Valley Home Show
The Annual Mon Valley Home Show is a community tradition, celebrating over 25 years in existence. The Home Show provides an opportunity for community residents and consumers to visit with a variety of businesses in the home remodeling, décor, finance and other specialties in one convenient location.
Rostraver Township Christmas Celebration
The Annual Rostraver Christmas Celebration is presented by the Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce, Rostraver Lions Club, Rostraver Township, Township Fire Departments and area businesses. The festivities include a visit with Santa Claus, goody bags for the children, with treats and items provided by members of the GRC, tree lighting, bonfire, hot chocolate, cookies, and more! The U.S. Marine Corps Reserves is on hand to conduct their annual Toys for Tots campaign as well. This annual holiday tradition offers fun for the entire family.
Other Community Events

The GRC maintains the Beautification Area on the traffic island located along Rt. 201 and Vance DeiCas Highway through sponsorship from Community Bank, Uncle Koko’s Pizzeria/Belle Vernon Fitness 24/7,  Monongahela Valley Hospital, PNC Bank, Valley Veterinary Services, and through generous donations of our members. McShane Florist and Greenhouse and Martin’s Flowers and Shrubs provides the annual lawn and garden care.

Members of the GRC are actively involved with Belle Vernon Area School District programs and projects. The WILLPower program (Women Invested in Learning Leopard Power), Senior Projects, Career Day, Finance Fair, and Senior Day of Caring are areas of involvement.

The GRC volunteers service and facilitates events to aid other non-profit agencies and community residents, such as working with the Monessen Salvation Army, North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park, and others.

The GRC provides scholarship money to Douglas Education Center, Westmoreland County Community College, Mon Valley Center, California University of Pennsylvania and Belle Vernon Area High School through funds raised at the Fall Classic Golf Outing. Students in the GRC service area, attending any one of these facilities, should contact the financial aid or guidance departments for more details and to apply for the scholarship.
